This 5.56 NATO semi-automatic rifle operates with a 3/8″ piston, mid-length rifle gas system for ultimate reliability and durability while allowing the gun to run clean with a limited amount of carbon in the action. No buffer tube is required for the rifle to completely cycle, because of this, Crusader Arms have fitted the rifle with a Buffer Tube and AR15 Stock. The Charging handle is non-reciprocating and ambidextrous for your preference.
The Templar Gen 2 has a redesigned and streamlined lower receiver that is now able to accept standard AR15 trigger pins, safety components, grips, stocks, and trigger packs. The Templar Gen 2 features a full-length (monolithic) 1913 Picatinny rail. Also, the Templar Gen 2 has a Bolt catch-and release AR15 Style paddle on the left side of the rifle.
